Bio-era estimated the economic impacts of selected emerging infectious diseases occurring between 1995 and 2008 based on information available from government and academic studies, news reports, and direct communications with health experts. Our approach has been to estimate, where possible, the full range of economic impacts caused by disease outbreaks including the direct, indirect, and systemic costs of disease outbreaks.
