Technological advances in disease surveillance and monitoring, coupled with innovative
public-private partnerships, are opening new avenues for infectious
disease control and prevention. Integrated approaches to understanding
disease emergence factors spanning human, domestic animal, and
wildlife populations are gaining support and creating alignment
among diverse institutions and stakeholders. These stakeholders
include the food industry, the wildlife conservation community,
government agencies responsible for human and animal health, and
other organizations, ranging from the high tech industry to pharmaceutical
companies.
